PATTERNS
Format: 60mm film (paint printing on custom format)
Duration: ~45min
Patterns is a handmade film created by printing on a 60mm film base. It is intended to be screened as a live film performance using a special projecting apparatus called the Archeoscope. The film examines the cinematic potential of patterns. What regular, repetitive structures on film can do when being screened in various ways. This film was made to present a unique opportunity to experience the essence of the fundamental nature of patterns directly in live action. It is an audiovisual struggle between chaos, and order. A Logos brought to life, set into an intensive luminous spectacle. An immersive sensorial play in which the eye is constantly trying to catch up and the brain struggling to make sense of it all. The interferences of various spacial and temporal patterns creates numerous visual creations, variations and modulations on the screen and, subsequently, in you mind. Out of all this arises something new nowhere else to be seen.

PRELIMINARY EXERCISES
Format: 16mm found footage
Duration: ~24 min
An intensive study of the cinematic illusion of movement. How it emerges, prevails, modulates, falls apart. At the same time a study of musical / rytmical possibilities of the frame timing. What if it wasn’t just a regular metric repetition, but complex polyrhythmic figures or overapping synchronous sequences? And what would that mean to the appearance of the motion? Reanimation of static film. How your brain copes with all that. Immersive expanded cinema take on Muybridgeian studies of motion – a live reverse engeneering of fundamental principles of cinema.

PREFILM
Format: no film, masks, filters, flicker
Duration: ~25 min
The film stripped to it’s core. It cannot be any simpler than a mere changes of the light and dark. And yet such contrasts provides unprecedentedly intensive and sensory experience. Rapid flashes of light bending our minds, provoking mesmerising appearances not only of the visual realm. Triggers various subjective phenomena, revoking memories and blurring the borders of the individual scenes. An extensive study of flickering light phenomena utilising peculiar possibilities of the Archeoscope. So empty, yet so much telling bodily experience.

GRACIAS PABLO
Format: 70mm
Duration: ~16 min
Ready made piece based on a given footage of a mysterious 70mm film reel of unknown origin. This film brings together elements of an action movie, helicopters, chasing scene and rollercoaster ride into a unique immersive cinematic experience. Emphasis on the element of the space, wrapped around the twisted tracks and speed invocated by a dynamic rhythmical bursts of light reanimates the individual frames of original footage into unprecedented space-time eruption.

FRINGE SHADES
Format: 48mm transparent tape, color filters, aluminium tape
Duration: ~16 min
Colors are born between light and darkness, not as representation but as event. Working with transparent tape, filters, and reflective surfaces, the piece constructs a field of flicker in which perception oscillates between the physical and the subjective. Minimal means generate unstable chromatic intensities that exceed the image itself, extending into afterimage, rhythm, and retinal persistence. Time is not measured but produced through intervals of light, where vision approaches its own threshold.
